THE FOLLOWING FARES ARE EFFECTIVE AS OF NOVEMBER 3, 2008 FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS ACCESSING OUR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES: A $1.00 PER ROUND TRIP RIDER FARE FOR ANY NORTH PROVIDENCE RESIDENT (60 years of age or older or has a disability and has no other available means of transportation) ACCESSING OUR AGENCY’S TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO AND FROM THE SENIOR CENTER TO ATTEND A CENTER SPONSORED CLASS/PRESENTATION/ RECREATION EVENT OR SMRAC HAIRDRESSER.

A $1.00 PER ROUND TRIP RIDER FARE FOR ANY NORTH PROVIDENCE RESIDENT ACCESSING OUR AGENCY’S DAILY NUTRITION SITE THROUGH OUR AGENCY’S OR TOWN’S NUTRITION VAN.

A $2.00 PER ROUND TRIP RIDER FARE FOR ANY NORTH PROVIDENCE RESIDENT ACCESSING OUR AGENCY’S TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR WEEKLY GROCERY SHOPPING, BANKING, NURSING HOMES.

All fares will be paid when boarding the van and must be paid with exact cash. Thank you for your cooperation!

** Transportation services are provided to any North Providence resident 60 years of age or older, or has a disability, and has no other available means of transportation.**

Hairdressers: Due to the heavy demand on our transportation system, we no longer provide transportation to hair salons. Transportation will be provided to our on-site hair salon. If you wish to make an appointment with our on-site hair salon, please phone the Receptionist at 231-0742. Thank you for your understanding. 

Transportation services are also provided through the RIDE Program. RIDE Program transports clients to Senior Center Nutrition Site and personal medical appointments within an 8 mile radius of Senior Center.   RIDE reservations for Senior Center Nutrition Program may be made with the Senior Center’s Nutrition Site Coordinator at 231-0742.  RIDE reservations for medical appointments must be made directly through RIDE at 461-9760.  Medical appointments require at least a three week notice for transportation. 

Effective 10/1/08, RIDE passengers travelling under DEA approval will pay $2.00 for each one way trip.  Exception:  DEA passengers on Medicaid will not be charged a fee.
